Strategy

Inside Eugene is a story-driven podcast that takes listeners behind the scenes of the City of Eugene's Library, Recreation, and Cultural Services (LRCS). Each episode features the individuals, programs, and creative initiatives that make Eugene a vibrant place to live — and shows how local government quietly fosters connection, artistic expression, and community well-being.

I host the show and own it end to end: content strategy, scriptwriting, recording, editing, mixing, publishing, and social promotion.

Audience

  • Primary: Eugene residents curious about what the City offers and who makes it happen.
  • Secondary: community members and partners looking for a more human, less bureaucratic picture of local government.

Goals

  • Make the work of a City department feel personal, accessible, and worth paying attention to.
  • Surface the people and programs behind community life that rarely get a spotlight.
  • Build a recurring, ownable channel for storytelling that lives beyond any single campaign.

Touchpoints

Every episode centers a real person — the staff, partners, and program leads behind LRCS — recorded as a warm, unscripted conversation rather than a formal Q&A. I also photograph each guest, so every episode has a face to go with the voice across social and the show's artwork.

Rollout

Each episode starts with strategy: who to feature, what story they carry, and why it matters to the audience right now. From there I script the arc, record the conversation, and edit and mix for clarity and pace — the goal is a listening experience that feels warm and intentional, not institutional.

Episodes are published across podcast platforms and supported with social promotion that pulls short, shareable moments out of each conversation to bring new listeners in.

Yield

The podcast gives LRCS something most departments don't have: a consistent, personality-forward channel to tell its own story in long form. Producing it in-house — from scripting through mixing — keeps every episode on-brand and strategically aligned while keeping production nimble and low-cost.

What I'd do next

  • Build a simple release calendar tying episodes to seasonal programs and campaigns.
  • Add episode landing pages with transcripts for accessibility and search.
  • Track listens and social pickup per episode to sharpen which stories resonate.
The bottom line

A recurring, human way to hear what the City actually does — 20 episodes, 815+ plays, hosted and produced end to end, one conversation at a time.

Let's create something meaningful.

I'm always open to new projects, collaborations, and conversations.
